We seek to build a relationship with our clients, rather than simply completing a transaction. Dynamic and forward thinking, we are a Law Firm for Life.
Robert joined The McKinstry Company as a trainee in 1997 and since then has worked his way through the business to Partner level. Robert heads up the Litigation Department, overseeing all the contentious court work which is undertaken by the Firm.
Robert’s main interests are in Personal Injury litigation, Employment Law and Contractual issues. Robert has developed a reputation as an outstanding solicitor carefully handling all aspects of his clients’ cases to ensure they are afforded excellent legal representation on whatever issue has required them to consult The McKinstry Company.
Having worked within The McKinstry Company for over 20 years Robert understands and embraces the values which have made The McKinstry Company the go-to Firm for so many Ayrshire people and businesses for all aspects of their legal requirements.
Aside from his broader skill set Robert is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Personal Injury Law which gives Accident Claim victims the assurance that they will get exceptional advice and service in the handling of their claims.
In his spare time, which Robert claims is reducing every year, Robert has a number interests outwith the law:-
He is an avid golfer and can be found in the rough and bunkers of Largs Golf Club and Royal Troon. Despite his lack of ability he is able to enjoy the social side of golf to the maximum.
Robert is a Trustee of the local charity Whiteleys Retreat. The McKinstry Company has always been a keen supporter of local charities and none more so than Whiteleys with the amazing work it does for children (and their families) who have life limiting diseases.
Robert is past President of Largs Cronies Burns Clubs and speaks regularly at dinners throughout Ayrshire during the Burns Supper season.
As if that wasn’t enough Robert enjoys running at least while his knees and hips will keep going. He has completed half marathons, Tough Mudders and all going well in 2020 will participate in the London Marathon.
