I operate a small business with ten employees, do I require to issue terms and condition of employment?

All employers require to issue employees with a written statement of the terms and conditions of their employment, and failure to do so can result in an award being made by the Employment Tribunal. We can assist with the preparation or revisal of contracts to ensure that employers are compliant with the relevant legislation.

An employee has committed an act of gross misconduct, what steps do I require to take?

If an issue of misconduct arises, it is important that an employer conducts an investigation into the circumstances of the allegations. The employee may require to be suspended during that investigation. Our Litigation team can provide advice at each stage of the investigation and disciplinary procedure.

I have been called by my employer to a disciplinary meeting, can someone accompany me to the meeting?

Employees have the right to be accompanied at any meeting where the potential outcome is disciplinary action. The companion can be a colleague or a trade union representative. If you are involved in a disciplinary process and require advice, contact our Litigation team.
